In northern parts of Norway, the sun never sets for part of each summer, giving rise to the phenomenon known as the Midnight Sun. Conversely, during winter, these areas experience the Polar Night, when the sun doesn’t rise at all.

The Constitution of Norway, adopted in 1814, is among the oldest in the world that is still in continuous force. It was inspired by the United States Declaration of Independence and the French Revolution.
