Germany
Germany: Home of the fastest Marathon
Germany is a country of diversity. It is a global leader in automotive manufacturing, home to major brands such as Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi. Frankfurt is the home of the European Central Bank. Berlin is the city where the fastest marathon was run and it is home to the stunning Bavarian Alps.
Joanne first visited Germany in 1980 to see the famous Oberammergau Passion Play travelling with her mum and two aunts. We were there again in 2016 when Tony completed the Berlin marathon – not quite as fast as Eliud Kipchoge who set the world record at the Berlin Marathon on September 16, 2018, with a time of 2 hours, 1 minute, and 39 seconds.
On our most recent trip we stayed at a fabulous campsite at Worpswede near Bremen called Land of Green. Check out our pics & Camp site review: Worpswede, Land of Green Campsite
