England
England: Joanne's birthplace
England is full of picturesque landscapes, from rolling countryside to cities full of history. The country where Joanne was born and lived for over 40 years. It is also where Joanne and Tony met in 1987, in the Friend at Hand pub in Russell Square London when Joanne was working in Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and Tony was working as a computer officer for the School of Oriental & African studies.
Joanne spent all of her childhood holidays visiting family around the country, building sand castles and riding donkey’s on the beaches of Lincolnshire, Devon, Weymouth and Hayling Island. Visiting castles, historic houses and cathedrals.
Together we have explored the length and breadth of the country, from hiking, running and climbing in the Derbyshire Peak District, attending weddings from Cornwall to Northumberland, concerts and theatre in London and Oxford and wild swims in the Lake District.
