1. Reliable WiFi:
Firstly let’s talk internet—because, let’s face it, nothing happens without it! We use Starlink to keep us connected no matter where our travels take us. It’s as simple as plugging it in and pointing it skyward. We have had download speeds of over 300 Mbps, which is pretty impressive, don’t you think? This, ensures that Tony can attend video calls via Microsoft Teams and manage global projects without a hitch.
2. Power Supply:
Our demountable camper is equipped with solar panels, which are a lifeline for us. They do a great job keeping our 12v battery topped up, ensuring that we never run out of power. It’s eco-friendly and efficient—perfect for long stints off the grid. When we stay on campsites we do plug into the electricity supply.
3. Power Inverter:
To make sure all our devices stay charged, we opted for a Victron Energy Phoenix 1200 from the Power Store. This handy tool converts 12v power into 1200 watts, enough to charge our laptops, phones, and more. Just be sure to check the wattage of your appliances to avoid overloading though.
4. Noise Reduction Headphones:
Whether it’s the rustling leaves or the chirping birds, nature’s symphony is always around. But when it’s time for meetings, Tony’s employer-provided noise reduction headphones which are perfect for drowning out background noise. This makes it easier to hear and be heard when discussing important projects.
5. Laptops:
We travel with three laptops—yes, three! This might sound like overkill, but it ensures that both our personal and professional digital needs are met without a hitch. Tony particularly relies on Microsoft Teams for collaborating with colleagues across continents, from India to the USA and Europe. Joanne uses hers for writing this travel blog and we can even log in to catch up on the news or watch a movie.
